SPRING ACTIVITY ON THE RISE

By Jeff Williams

With spring officially here, activity in the Port Clinton area is on the rise. With warmer temperatures comes an influx of fishermen trying to fill their coolers. Although slow in the beginning, activity increases with increased water temperature. Numerous trailered boats have invaded the Port Clinton region along with a few boats spotted on the lake as well as bank fishermen. The Sandusky River in Fremont is busy with numerous outdoorsmen trying to catch Walleye on their spring spawning run. Many fishermen stay for the week or weekend searching for rentals and housing. If you’re here, why not stay? Port Clinton is a great place to get-away and many folks enjoy it so much they purchase property. Why not try your luck catching Smallmouth, Walleye, Perch or other native species!
